I'm a mommy!

I didn't think I'd have the time or energy to post anything on my blog for a while, but since my little boy is refusing to take a nap with me, I thought I'd quick post something while he is stimulated by his lamb swing (which he now loves, by the way)!
Well, I must say it - I definitely LOVE being a mom. I never knew or had an idea what it would be like, which I guess is pretty impossible to do since you never really know what something will be like until you're actually living it, but this parenthood thing is pretty wonderful. I find myself crying at least once a day just so happy that Kellen is here, that Aaron and I made this beautiful little angel and that God allowed us to bring him into our world. I still have a hard time believing that he's actually here and that I'm a for-real mommy. I'm pretty emotional for other reasons as well, hello hormones and lack of sleep, but the tears of joy are for real. I just love my little man so much, and it doesn't hurt that he's so darn cute.
Aaron was able to record the birth of Kellen with our camera, which I'm pretty impressed by since he really doesn't have the stomach for blood and stuff, but I think its different when that blood and other icky stuff is bringing your son into the world. So anyways, Dr. Kremer (our wonderful obgyn who I will definitely use for our next baby) told us about a minute before she was ready to pull Kellen out so that Aaron could get his first breaths and cries on camera. I was in amazement the first time I watched this video and now find myself watching it about 3 times a day (I would watch it more but I try not to be crazy about it). I do cry every time I watch it because I just can't believe that I carried that little man for 9 months and I get to see him coming into our world. Hearing "it's a boy" and those big cries was just the most beautiful sound in the world, and being able to watch it over and over again makes me so happy! I didn't realize until my 20th time watching it that Kellen's cord was wrapped around his neck twice - but my Dr. was so smooth and just quickly unwrapped it as she pulled him out - no panic or word about it, just quick and easy. I really, truly admire these Drs, midwives and nurses for what they do. What an admirable, amazing (I think I've typed amazing a dozen times in this post) job they have.
Well, my little man is eager to nurse for the 10th time today, so I must be off! I will attempt to post about Kellen's birth story soon. Even though it wasn't super earth-shattering, it was still beautiful none-the-less and I'm happy to share about it!
